Case Description
On June 12, 2022, Igor Paskary set fire to a Z-banner with the inscription "We don't abandon our own" in the center of Krasnodar, but no one paid attention to these actions. Two days later, the man painted his face in the colors of the Ukrainian flag and threw a Molotov cocktail at the FSB office on Mira Street in Krasnodar. Igor did not try to run away, as he himself notes: 'It was a public action. If I had gone into hiding, it would have lost all meaning. Igor calls his action "symbolic", emphasizing that his actions could not have caused any harm to anyone, which is proven by the only victim—the burned rug on the doorstep. The Southern Military District Court sentenced Igor Paskary to 8.5 years in prison: Igor must spend the first three years in prison, and the remaining years in a strict regime colony. On November 7, 2023, the Appellate Military Court upheld the sentence.
