Case Description
A criminal case was initiated in the city of Tyndu, Amur Region, against a 46-year-old local resident Dzhamil Nurakov on charges of repeated 'discrediting of the army'. The exact date of detention and the chosen preventive measure are unknown. According to the investigation, in August 2023, Nurakov "saw a post about the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a video of the television program 'Meeting Place' on the social network on the official page of the NTV television channel. After which, he left comments under the post discrediting the use of the RF Armed Forces for the purpose of protecting the interests of the RF and its citizens. The content of the comment is unknown. Earlier, in August and September 2022, Nurakov was twice brought to administrative responsibility under the article on 'discrediting the army'. July 4, 2024, Judge Ivan Kuznetsov of the Tyndinsky District Court of the Amur Region found Dzhamil Nurakov guilty and sentenced him to one and a half years in a penal colony-settlement and banned him from administering internet resources for two years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
