Case Description
In the village of Terpenye, Melitopol district, occupied Zaporizhzhia region, in July 2023 (the exact date is unknown), a 41-year-old local resident, a citizen of Ukraine, Dmitry Savin, was abducted from scrap metal." Subsequently, Russian law enforcement opened a criminal case against Savin for espionage. According to the Russian investigation, from August to December 2022, Savin, while on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, collected information about the deployment locations of one of the Rosgvardia units, which he passed on to a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman acting in the interests of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. March 6, 2024, at the latest, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Court found Dmitry Savin guilty and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony. There is no information about appealing the verdict.
