Case Description
In the Kursk region on August 10, 2024, during hostilities, Ukrainian citizens, 38-year-old servicemen of the 22nd separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - soldier Andrey Anisimov and Dmitry Labunsky - were taken prisoner by Russian military personnel. Criminal charges were brought against them for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. According to the investigation, he contacted representatives of 'Ateş' and, on the coordinator's assignment, allegedly photographed the building of the FSB Directorate in Dzerzhinsk, as well as pasted leaflets of the movement with the inscription 'Let's stop the war together' on poles. Being in the Korenevsky and Sudzhansky districts of the Kursk region, the servicemen "threatening to use weapons, intimidated the local population, illegally occupied private houses, prevented the evacuation of civilians, repeatedly opened fire on Russian servicemen and civilians. On March 14, 2025, Judge Anton Kakadeev of the 2nd Western Military Circuit Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Andrey Anisimov and Dmitry Labunsky to 16 years in prison, with the first 3 years to be served in prison and the remainder in a strict regime correctional colony." The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
