Case Description
In Berdanka, in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, a local 30-year-old resident, Ukrainian citizen Dmitry Kravtsov, was detained no later than July 2022 (the exact date is unknown). Russian security forces accused him of participating in a terrorist community, aiding terrorist activities, illegal possession of explosives and explosive devices, and attempting a terrorist act. According to the Russian investigation, in 2022, unidentified individuals, whose criminal case was separated into a separate production, acting against the interests of Russia and the special military operation conducted by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, created a terrorist community in Berdyansk, which also included Kravtsov. According to investigators, in April-July 2022, the man allegedly collected information about the deployment of RF Armed Forces units, the stay and residence of law enforcement officers, as well as officials of regional authorities. Russian law enforcement agencies also claim that Kravtsov was given a car wheel with hidden explosives and explosive devices, which he began to store in a cache equipped in a garage box in order to later carry out a terrorist attack, but he was detained. Kravtsov sent him to a pre-trial detention center, where he allegedly engaged in recruiting people who held anti-Russian views and wanted to join the so-called "partisan movement, the goal of which was to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts. On October 16, 2024, the Southern Military District Court found Dmitry Kravtsov guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in a strict regime penal colony, with the first 4 years to be served in prison and a fine of 500 thousand." rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
