Case Description
In the annexed Crimea in July 2024, the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol detained 37-year-old Dmitry Adamyonka, a resident of the village of Simeiz in the Yalta district, who, according to the security forces, tried to leave for Ukraine to fight against Russia." According to the investigation, the man contacted members of the "Russian Volunteer Corps, recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization, through an internet messenger and informed them that he wanted to fight against the RF Armed Forces and received instructions on how to do so. A criminal case was initiated against a Crimean man for preparing state treason, participating in the activities of a terrorist organization and calling for terrorism. Simferopol's Kievsky District Court sent a defendant in the case under arrest. On 28 May 2025, the Southern Military District Court found Dmitry Adamyonka guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony.
