Case Description
In the town of Podporozhye, Leningrad Oblast, late in the evening of May 24, 2025, unknown individuals set fire to the premises of a volunteer headquarters and a warehouse containing items for military personnel and humanitarian aid for residents of the Kursk Oblast. The fire destroyed almost all property. The shipment of cargo to the front was planned for May 29. Two days later, on May 26, 2025, Denis Falikov, a 40-year-old local resident, was detained on charges of arson. An investigation was launched against him for committing a terrorist act that resulted in significant property damage. May 26, 2025, the Podporozhye City Court of the Leningrad Region detained the defendant in the case in custody. On September 18, 2025, the measure of restraint was changed to house arrest.
