Case Description
On March 11, 2025, in the Kursk region, during hostilities, 36-year-old Ukrainian citizen Bogdan Gorb, a shooter of the 118th brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was taken prisoner by Russian soldiers." 1. A criminal case was opened against him for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. According to the Russian investigation, on the evening of September 4, 2024, Gorb, along with other military personnel, illegally crossed the state border of the Russian Federation in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region." 5. After that, he proceeded towards the Khutor Agronom, where, as part of the unit, he "formed and held observation and fire positions, intimidated the population, tracked the movement of Russian military units, and transmitted information about them." "On 29 September 2025, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Bohdan Horb guilty and sentenced him to 16 years in prison, the first 4 years to be served in prison, and the remaining part of the sentence in a strict regime penal colony." The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
