Case Description
In Voronezh in November 2023, 37-year-old auto mechanic Artem Lozovoy was detained. According to law enforcement, he planned to detonate a homemade bomb on the territory of the military enlistment office in the Komintern district of the city. According to the FSB, Lozovoy was recruited by 'militants of one of the Ukrainian terrorist organizations', and after committing a terrorist attack he planned to leave Russia to take part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine. The Investigative Department of the FSB of Russia for the Voronezh Region initiated a criminal case on preparation for a terrorist act and illegal acquisition, manufacture and storage of explosive devices. The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center. Later, the charge was expanded to include treason and receiving training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities. On August 28, 2024, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Artem Lobov guilty and sentenced him to 18 years of imprisonment, 3 of which he will spend in prison, the remaining - in a strict regime correctional colony, with a fine of 700 thousand. rubles.
