Case Description
Anton Polevik, a 38-year-old local resident, was detained by security forces in Khabarovsk in July 2023. According to the investigation, Polevik 'spoke out against the SMO, cursed the Russian Armed Forces' and persuaded his acquaintance to join the 'Freedom of Russia' legion in order to continue fighting in its ranks against Russia. A criminal case was opened against the man for aiding terrorist activity and he was sent to a pre-trial detention center. Later it became known that he was charged with treason and illegal possession of drugs. 11 June 2025, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found Anton Polevik guilty and sentenced him to 19 years in a strict regime colony.
