Case Description
On March 9, 2022, in the Moscow region at Domodedovo airport, FSB officers detained 21-year-old resident of Voronezh Anton Osipenko when he attempted to fly to Yerevan." "He was taken to Voronezh, where he was tortured: "strangled with a bag, beaten on the arms, legs, kidneys, and under torture forced to sign a confession that the purpose of his trip to Yerevan was to join the "International Legion of Ukraine" unit to fight on the side of Ukraine. After that, he was released. Osipenko spent 11 months at large. On February 22, 2023, a search was conducted at Osipenko's place. He was accused of preparing for treason and sent to a pre-trial detention center. 3 July 2024, the Moscow Oblast Court found Anton Osipenko guilty and sentenced him to 9 years and 10 months in a strict regime colony with a restriction of freedom for 1 year and 8 months. 15 October 2024, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction upheld the sentence.
