Case Description
In the village of Oleshnya in the Kursk region, no later than September 2024, during hostilities, 30-year-old Ukrainian citizen, soldier of the 82nd Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrey Zhurba, was taken prisoner by Russian servicemen." He was accused of committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. On 8 August 2024, according to the Russian investigation, Zhurba, together with other servicemen, illegally invaded the territory of the Russian Federation. While in the village of Oleshnya, he mined the roads and, threatening with weapons, prevented the evacuation of civilians. The court found Andrei Zhurba guilty and sentenced him to 16 years in prison." The first 4 years he will serve in prison, and the remaining term - in a strict regime correctional colony. It is unknown when and which court sentenced him.
