Case Description
In Kemerovo, a search was conducted at journalist Andrey Novoshev's home. After the search, he was taken away for questioning. An investigative check is being carried out against Novashrv in a case of "cooperation with an undesirable organization. Other details of the case are unknown. Searches were also conducted in Kuzbass at the home of Maxim Adrianov, head of the public organization "Environmental Committee, and at the home of observer Vyacheslav Chernov - both men had their electronic devices seized. Andrey Novashov became the first journalist to be charged with spreading military "fakes" after the new article was introduced into the code in March 2022. A case was opened against Novashov on March 21, 2022. He was charged with reposting an article by journalist Victoria Ivleva on VKontakte about the blockade of Mariupol by Russian troops. Novashov was sentenced to eight months of corrective labor a year later. In addition, he was banned from publishing on the Internet for a year.
