Case Description
In the Bryansk region in November 2022, during an attempt to enter Ukraine bypassing the checkpoint, 29-year-old Anatoly Sintulsky, a resident of Votkinsk in the Republic of Udmurtia, was detained. He was accused of attempting to participate in an armed formation on the territory of a foreign state. According to the investigation, Sintulsky, being "an adherent of Nazi ideology of Ukraine and an active opponent of the domestic and foreign policy of the Russian Federation, entered into correspondence with a recruiter for an illegal armed formation who promised to help him cross the border. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On December 14, 2022, the Bryansk Regional Court found Anatoly Sintulsky guilty and sentenced him to five years in a strict regime colony." The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
