Case Description
In Moscow, in early December 2020, a 63-year-old scientist, an employee of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Anatoly Gubanov of Zhukovsky. He was accused of treason. According to law enforcement officials, the scientist passed secret information to a European state as part of an international project to develop the hypersonic civil aircraft HEXAFLY-INT (High-Speed Experimental Fly Vehicles). On December 3, 2020, the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow placed the defendant in the case in a pre-trial detention center. On October 27, 2023, the Moscow City Court found Anatoly Gubanov guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in a strict regime colony. On January 31, 2024, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict unchanged.
