On November 7, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic found Alexey Kovalev, Andrey Chumak, and Valeriy Fedorovich guilty and sentenced each of them to 26 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony. There is no information about appealing the verdict. On October 18, 2024, Alexey Kovaly was released during the next exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine.
