Case Description
In the Kaluga region on September 11, 2025, a search was conducted at the home of 57-year-old local resident, activist, and blogger Alexander Vasilyev. During the search, FSB operatives beat him up. Vasilyeva was accused of publicly justifying terrorism. According to the investigation, from March 23 to June 28, 2025, the man, experiencing a negative attitude towards the conduct of the 'special military operation', posted two comments on Telegram." In them, there were calls for violent actions against the President of the Russian Federation and for destructive actions on the territory of Russia. On September 12, 2025, the court sent the case's defendant to the SIZO. On December 26, 2025, the 2nd Western District Military Court found Alexander Vasiliev guilty and sentenced him to 2 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. He was also banned from administering websites and channels on the Internet for 2 years.
