Case Description
Alexander Ustienko, a 26-year-old Ukrainian citizen and serviceman of the Azov Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was captured by Russian servicemen in the occupied Mariupol of the Donetsk region no later than the end of March 2022. Against him, a criminal case was initiated for participating in the activities of a terrorist community and undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities. The reason for the criminal prosecution was service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the nationalist "Azov" battalion, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. September 8, 2025, the Southern Military Court found Alexander Ustenko guilty, the size of the punishment is unknown.
