В Смоленске не позднее ноября 2024 года задержали местного жителя Александра Симонова. Его обвинили в государственной измене, участии в деятельности организации, признанной террористической, и в двух эпизодах покушения на совершение диверсии. Подробности обвинения неизвестны.
На время следствия фигуранта дела поместили под стражу.
21 октября 2025 года 2-й Западный окружной военный суд признал Александра Симонова виновным и приговорил его к лишению свободы в колонии строгого режима, размер наказания неизвестен.
14 апреля 2026 года Апелляционный военный суд оставил приговор без изменения.
