Case Description
In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Krai, on March 21, 2025, a 43-year-old local resident, Alexander Sarbayev, was detained. He was accused of treason. The reason for the criminal prosecution was the transfer of 400 rubles for the needs of military medics, made the day after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. For the duration of the investigation, the court placed the defendant in a pre-trial detention center. On December 23, 2025, the Khabarovsk Regional Military Court found Alexander Sarbayev guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in a strict regime penal colony.
