Case Description
In the Kursk region, on the night of October 29, 2024, during hostilities, Ukrainian citizens were taken prisoner by Russian military: 44-year-old sniper-medic Alexander Priymachuk of the 17th Tank Brigade and 38-year-old sniper Denis Pisachenko of the 22nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Criminal charges were brought against them for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. According to the Russian investigation, on the morning of October 25, 2024, Pryimachuk illegally invaded the Kursk region as part of a unit of 30 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers on foreign-made wheeled vehicles and was in a forest near the village of. p. Ol’govka, Korenevsky District. According to the Russian investigation, Pisachenko, in September-October 2024, twice crossed the Russian border in the Kursk region on tracked armored personnel carriers and held positions in forest plantations adjacent to the settlements of Korenevo and Olgovka in the Korenevsky district. On May 14, 2025, the 2nd Western Military District Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Aleksandra Priymachuk and Denis Pisachenko to 16 years in prison, with the first 4 years to be served in a prison, and the remaining part in a strict regime correctional colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
