Case Description
On December 19, 2024, Alexander Krichevsky, a 57-year-old local resident and wheelchair-bound disabled person, was detained in Izhevsk. He was accused of public calls for terrorism. According to the investigation, on September 11, 2024, Krichevsky left a comment in the Telegram channel of opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov: "That's why we listen to him, because he is not afraid — a ray of freedom in the kingdom of darkness!" And we will destroy this darkness only together, when we understand that we have one enemy - Putin and his FSB clique... Both you and we need to destroy this enemy so that we can live as peaceful neighbors in the future. After the detention, the defendant was sent to a pre-trial detention center. On January 22, 2025, the Central Military District Court found Alexander Krichevsky guilty and sentenced him to 5.5 years in a general regime colony with a ban on administering websites. The court also ordered the destruction of his phone.
