Krasnoshchyok Aleksandr Sergeevich (Krasnoshchok Oleksandr Sergiyovich)

In Mariupol, in the occupied Donetsk region, no later than April 2022, a Ukrainian citizen, commander of the second section of the 36th separate brigade of the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Krasnoshechko, was taken prisoner by Russian military personnel. A criminal case was opened against him for cruel treatment of the civilian population in the occupied territory and the murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group, on the grounds of political, ideological hatred. According to the Russian investigation, in the period from March 19 to April 3, 2022, Krasnoschyok, together with other military personnel, while on combat duty at observation posts in Mariupol, discovered a car moving along Pervomaiskaya Street towards Karpova Avenue with white ribbons on the rearview mirrors and handles of the car, in which there were two civilians. Having received the criminal order from the commander, Krasnoschyok, together with his fellow servicemen, fired multiple aimed shots from assault rifles, shooting up the vehicle. As a result of the wounds received, the man and woman died on the spot. On May 8, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic found Alexander Krasnoschekov guilty and sentenced him to 27 years in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
