Case Description
No later than October 2024, a criminal case on calls for terrorism was opened against 32-year-old local resident Alexander Kapichnikov in Tambov Oblast. The reason for the criminal prosecution was posts on VKontakte in support of the Freedom of Russia Legion, which was recognized as a terrorist organization. Most likely, the man was under house arrest during the investigation. 6 May 2025, the 2nd Western Military Court found Aleksandr Kapichnikov guilty and sentenced him to 1.5 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
