Case Description
7 June 2023 in Vladimir, 55-year-old local resident Zhanna Romanovskaya drove up to the military enlistment office building (the office of the military commissar of the Vladimir region for the Lenin district of Vladimir) on Streletskaya Street in a Lada Kalina car. She came out and threw three bottles with an incendiary mixture at the building. Only the gates caught fire, but they were quickly extinguished by the police guarding the military enlistment office. The woman was immediately detained, and a five-liter canister of fuel and several rags were found on her. It later turned out that Romanovskaya became a victim of fraudsters. The woman took out loans for several million rubles, and the scammers pushed her to throw Molotov cocktails at the military enlistment office in order to forgive the debt. Despite this, a criminal case was opened against Romanovskaya for attempted destruction of another's property. On June 9, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Vladimir sent her to a pre-trial detention center. On August 1, 2024, the Leninsky District Court of Vladimir found Zhanna Romanovskaya guilty and sentenced her to one and a half years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
