Case Description
In Kerch, in annexed Crimea, no later than September 2023, 44-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen with forced Russian citizenship Yuri Vyunnenko was detained. He was accused of treason. According to the investigation, Vyunnenko himself proposed cooperation to a representative of the Ukrainian Security Service. September 2023, he sent video recordings and geographic coordinates of the locations of air defense systems in Kerch to the Ukrainian special services via messenger. In the opinion of the prosecution, this data could be used to strike at the locations of Russian military personnel. For the duration of the investigation, the man was sent into custody. On December 4, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea found Yuri Vyunenko guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in a strict regime penal colony and 1.5 years of restricted freedom. On March 12, 2025, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict unchanged.
