Case Description
On September 12, 2024, in the city of Rubtsovsk, Altai Krai, 25-year-old local resident Yuri Lapteykin was detained. Charges were brought against him in a criminal case involving public justification and propaganda of terrorism. According to the investigation, from 2023 to 2024, in one of the popular messengers under news about the course of the special military operation, a man posted comments aimed at publicly justifying and promoting terrorism. It is unknown exactly what Lapteykin wrote. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On March 10, 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Yuri Lapteykin guilty and sentenced him to 4 years in a general regime colony. 27 May 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
