Case Description
In the Stavropol Territory, no later than February 2022, a criminal case was initiated for participation in the activities of an extremist organization and its financing against Yuriy Korobov, a native of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic with a previous conviction. According to the investigation, Korobov is involved in the activities of the Ukrainian organization "Right Sector", which is banned in Russia, and its financing. During the investigation and trial, the defendant in the case was sent to a pre-trial detention center. On September 21, 2021, the Kursk District Court of the Stavropol Territory found Yuri Korobov guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 10 months of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony with a 10-month restriction of freedom. On January 26, 2022, the Judicial Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Stavropol Regional Court changed the verdict and increased the punishment to 4 years 6 months of imprisonment in a strict regime colony with a 10-month restriction of freedom.
