Case Description
In early July 2023, in the occupied Lugansk region, the FSB announced the detention of a local resident, a citizen of Ukraine, Yuri Galetsky." He was accused of espionage. According to Russian security forces, in September 2022, the man voluntarily collected information about the deployment locations of Russian servicemen in Kharkiv Oblast." It is claimed that he passed the obtained data to Ukrainian special services during personal meetings. The defendant in the case was placed in a pre-trial detention center at the request of the investigation. On or before August 8, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic found Yuri Galetsky guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony. There is no information about appealing the verdict.
