Case Description
In October 2025, Yuri Belenky, a 48-year-old top manager of an IT company, was detained in Moscow. A criminal case was opened against him for financing terrorism. According to the investigation, from January 2023 to March 2024, Belenky transferred more than 60 thousand rubles in cryptocurrency to the details specified by journalist Arkady Babchenko. Investigators believe that this money was intended to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a certain terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in Russia. On October 13, 2025, the Savyolovsky District Court of Moscow chose a measure of restraint for the case's defendant in the form of detention.
