Case Description
On 28 May 2021, in the city of Alchevsk, Luhansk region, employees of the MGB of the LNR abducted 49-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Yulia Dzenhlyuk. For a long time, nothing was known about her fate. The Alchevsk City Department of Internal Affairs declared the woman wanted. Later it turned out that the woman was accused of treason. According to the security forces' version, in 2019 Dzenglyuk recruited an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine and instructed her to carry out money transfers on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic. Thus, Dzenklyuk "committed the provision of financial assistance to a representative of a foreign state in activities aimed against the security of the Luhansk People's Republic. No later than May 2022, the Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic found Yulia Dzenlyuk guilty and sentenced her to 5.5 years in prison. There is no information about appealing the verdict.
