On August 5, 2023, two local residents, college students, 19-year-old Ruslan Gashumov and 17-year-old Yulia Arkhipova, were detained in the Saratov region." 5. According to the security forces, in May 2023, Gashumov received an offer in 'Telegram' from an unidentified person to commit arson of relay cabinets for a monetary reward of 30 thousand. rubles. Upon giving his consent, the young man received a detailed instruction on the preparation and commission of the crime, as well as a plan for further actions to conceal it. The plan was to set fire to two relay cabinets at the "Jasmine" station. Gashumov offered his underage acquaintance to commit arson of relay cabinets for monetary reward, to which the latter agreed. For the implementation of the plan, the students purchased a crowbar and kerosene from a store. Afterwards, according to the investigation, on July 19, 2023, at the Jasminnaya station, the young man attempted to break into the metal doors of two relay cabinet housings, but was unable to do so. At that moment Arkhipova saw the lights of an approaching car in which employees of JSC Russian Railways were located and reported this to Gashumov. Understanding that in the current situation they would not be able to carry out the crime to the end, fearing being detained, the students left the station. Initially, a criminal case was opened against the young people for the destruction of other people's property, but later the charge was reclassified as attempted sabotage. On August 7, 2023, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Saratov sent both of them into custody. On March 21, 2024, the Saratov Regional Court found Ruslan Gashumov and Yulia Arkhipova guilty and sentenced Arkhipova to 4 years 6 months in a general regime colony, and Gashumov to 9 years 6 months in prison in a strict regime correctional colony with the first three years to be served in prison."
