Case Description
11 December 2024, in occupied Donetsk, 35-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Yuliy Belokon, was detained. He was accused of espionage. According to the Russian investigation, in October 2023, Belokon, being on the territory of Donetsk, was collecting information about the locations of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation located on the territory of the republic. He transmitted the data to an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine via messenger. For the duration of the investigation, the Ukrainian was placed in a pre-trial detention center. June 24, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic found Yuliy Belokony guilty and sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
