Case Description
On May 20, 2023, at the Isilkul automobile checkpoint in the Omsk region, 19-year-old police officer Yasin Khalidov was detained while attempting to cross the Russian-Kazakh border. According to reports, after his detention he was taken to Chechnya, after which he disappeared. The reason for Khalido's persecution was his attempts to resign from service in law enforcement agencies after returning from the war in Ukraine, and then - the fact that he passed information to human rights defenders about his work in the Chechen security forces: human rights violations, secret operations, illegal developments and provocations in which he and his colleagues participated in Chechnya and on the territory of Ukraine.
