Case Description
26-year-old Ukrainian native Yaroslav Vladyko was detained in Moscow on August 23, 2022. He was taken to the Kotlovka District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, where a protocol on an administrative offense of petty hooliganism was drawn up against him. According to the protocol, the young man, being in a public place (on the street), used obscene language, waved his arms, behaved aggressively, did not respond to citizens' remarks to stop his hooligan actions, continuing to grossly violate public order. Judge Ekaterina Slyuzova of the Zyuzino District Court of Moscow sent Vlado under administrative arrest for 12 days. 1 September Meshchansky District Court of Moscow sent Yaroslav Vladyko to a pre-trial detention center on charges of participating in an extremist organization. According to the investigation, Vladiko wanted to join the Right Sector organization. Later, the charges were toughened by adding an attempt at state treason. On June 27, 2023, the 2nd Western District Military Court found Yaroslav Vladyko guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in a strict regime colony. In addition, the court imposed a 100 thousand fine on Vladko. rubles and banned him from administering websites for three years. On November 21, 2023, the Appellate Military Court changed the verdict without altering the qualification of the charges.
