Case Description
В Екатеринбурге в 2021 году против юристки, правозащитницы фонда «В защиту прав заключенных» Яны Гельмель возбудили уголовное дело об умышленном причинении тяжкого вреда здоровью, совершённом с применением оружия или предметов, используемых в качестве оружия. По версии следствия, правозащитница якобы избила родственницу судьи. Подробности обвинения неизвестны.
В 2022 году Гельмель эмигрировала из России. В мае 2022 года правозащитницу объявили в розыск.
В октябре 2022 года дело Гельман поступило на рассмотрение в Верхнепышминский городской суд Свердловской области, но суд вернул дело в прокуратуру.
