Case Description
In Syktyvkar, no later than March 2023, the exact date is unknown, Vyacheslav Rossokhin was detained and sent to a pre-trial detention center on charges of justifying terrorism. ccording to law enforcement officials, Rossokhin, using his account on the social network VKontakte, repeatedly posted comments in open communities with public calls for attacks on the life of one of the Russian state officials. According to the linguistic examination, the above-mentioned textual materials contain signs of calling for terrorist activity. On July 24, 2023, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Vitaly Rossokhin guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a general regime correctional colony, with a 2-year ban on engaging in activities related to website administration. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
