Case Description

In St. Petersburg, no later than June 2023 (the exact date is unknown), a criminal case was opened for justifying terrorism and extremism against 20-year-old local resident Vladislav Tabulovich. The reason for the criminal prosecution was comments on posts in "Telegram." According to the investigation, Tabulovich, on June 6 and 13, 2023, being hostile to Russia's conduct of the SVO, under various photographs posted in a group consisting of 31 participants, posted comments containing public calls for the implementation of terrorist activities against the "Moscow Channel" and extremist activities against persons of Russian nationality. Also, according to the security forces, on June 6, 2023, Tabulovich, under a photo posted in the group of the flooding of the House of Culture in Nova Kakhovka, left a comment with the words: "Now we need to go through the Moscow Canal... . .." and posted an image of a map of this canal. For the duration of the investigation, the Petersburg resident was placed under arrest. On March 6, 2024, the 1st Western Military District Court found Vladislav Tabulovich guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 350 thousand. rubles with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of websites for a period of 2 years. Taking into account the time Tabulovich has been in custody, the court reduced the main punishment in the form of a fine to 200 thousand. rubles. Tabulovich was also sentenced to a compulsory medical measure in the form of compulsory supervision and treatment by a psychiatrist in outpatient conditions at his place of residence. On May 21, 2024, the Appellate Military Court upheld the sentence.
