Case Description

Vladislav Nikolaev, soloist and co-founder of the punk rock band Drunkface from Norilsk, was convicted in a case of repeated 'discrediting of the army'. The reason for the persecution was two posts by Nikolaev on Instagram. In his first publication, he wrote "about his personal guilt in the problems of the SVO, as well as listed information about the actions of the RF Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine." Collage "containing statements undermining the dignity, authority and trust in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation" was included as a second episode in the case. Earlier, in June 2022, the Krasno-oktyabrsky District Court of Volgograd sentenced him to one day of administrative arrest under articles on petty hooliganism and discrediting the army due to a sticker in the form of a peace sign and the inscription "fuck the war" on Nikolaev's car. In March 2023 (the exact date is unknown), Nikolaev was detained. After the search and interrogation, he was released on his own recognizance not to leave. On November 27, 2023, Norilsk City Court of Krasnoyarsk Krai found Vladislav Nikolaev guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 400 thousand rubles and confiscation of the phone in favor of the state. On January 26, 2024, the Krasnoyarsk Regional Court upheld the sentence.
