Case Description
In Gukovo, Rostov Oblast, on the night of May 13-14, 2022, two unknown individuals threw a bottle with an incendiary mixture into the local military enlistment office building and fled. The fire was extinguished independently by military enlistment office staff. No one was hurt. Two days later, a local 19-year-old resident, Vladislav Matveenko, was detained on charges of arson. He was accused of hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, and of attempted intentional destruction of another's property. According to law enforcement, Matveenko, while searching for work online, contacted an unidentified person who offered a reward of 3 thousand. 5. rubles for arson of a military enlistment office. In May 2022, he and an accomplice carried out an attack on an institution. Matveenko's role consisted of video recording the arson process for the customer's report. The identity of his accomplice was not established. The young man was placed in custody for the duration of the investigation. On January 24, 2023, the Gukovo City Court found Vladislav Matveenko guilty. He was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
