Case Description
12 July 2023, around 19:00, near entrance No. 7 in the courtyard of a multi-apartment residential building at st. Zemstvo, d. On the 18th, an unidentified explosive device planted on a parked moped detonated. The blast wave shattered the glass in almost all the windows in the inner part of the courtyard, and cut the walls and partitions of the balconies. As a result, three women passing by aged 21, 61 and 85 years old were injured. The women were hospitalized to the hospital with injuries that do not pose a threat to life. The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a criminal case on attempted murder of two or more persons committed in a generally dangerous manner. According to one version of the investigation, the target of the saboteur could have been the Crimean Z-blogger Alexander Talypov, who actively supports the special operation. On July 24, 2024, the FSB detained two local residents, citizens of Ukraine - 38-year-old Vladislav Gromov and 36-year-old Roman Melnichuk. During searches of the homes of the Crimeans, weapons, items for creating explosive devices, explosives, a control panel, electronic media, and mobile phones allegedly containing correspondence with "curators from the SBU" were supposedly seized. Crimean residents were accused of attempted murder for hire, intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm, intentional infliction of light bodily harm, intentional damage to another's property, illegal circulation of explosive devices, and illegal manufacture of explosive devices. The men were sent to a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. According to law enforcement, from December 2022 to June 2023, Ukrainian special services persuaded Roman Melnichuk to cooperate through a mobile messenger. To check the candidate, the curators suggested that he set fire to any car with the letter "Z" symbol, which was done at night on Fedko Street. Later, Melnichuk was tasked with killing local blogger Alexander Talipov. For completing the task, Melnichuk was promised 1 million. rubles. To carry out the task, the man recruited another local resident - Vladislav Gromov. The first attempt to kill the blogger failed: the remote explosive device did not work. As a result of a repeated assassination attempt on July 12, 2023, a bomb exploded in the courtyard of a multi-story residential building. According to law enforcement officials, Melnichuk is also responsible for a series of sabotage attacks: coordinating an attack on an oil depot and an ammunition warehouse near the village of Oktyabrskoye in the Krasnogvardeysky district of Crimea on July 22, 2023, setting fire to the cars of propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov in Koktebel in September 2022, explosions on the railway in the Kirovsky district on June 27, 2023, in Feodosia on June 21, 2023, and in the Simferopol district near the village of Chistenko on May 18, 2023. The court sentenced the defendants to imprisonment for 16 and 10 years, respectively, in accordance with their roles in the criminal case, to be served in a strict regime correctional colony. On October 31, 2024, the Feodosia City Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Roman Melnik to 16 years and Vladislav Gromov to 10 years in a strict regime colony.
