Case Description
A criminal case for treason was opened against a serviceman, a graduate of the airborne school from Tatarstan and a participant in the Victory Parade on Red Square, 23-year-old Vladislav Boyarshinov. The reason for the criminal prosecution was allegedly the collection of intelligence by a military serviceman, information that could be used against the security of the Russian Federation. Other details about the criminal case are not available. The date of initiation of the criminal case and in which region the investigation was conducted is unknown. The Telegram channel VChK-OGPU, citing motions to extend the arrest of the former cadet, reported that the investigation considers Boyarshinov to be 'a valuable source of information for a foreign intelligence service,' and that 'with the assistance of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, [he] may leave the territory of the Russian Federation, hide from the bodies of preliminary investigation on the territory of Ukraine.'" 19 February 2024, the 2nd Western Military Court found Vladislav Boyarshinov guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in a strict regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
