Batalov Vladislav Aleksandrovich

A criminal case was initiated in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky against local resident Vladislav Batalov. The date of his detention is unknown. He was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization, undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities, and cooperating on a confidential basis with a foreign organization. According to the investigation, Batalov corresponded in Telegram with an alleged representative of the 'Russian Volunteer Corps'. In correspondence, he discussed possible sabotage on the territory of Kamchatka Krai, but refused offers to commit them, although he received files with instructions for assembling a homemade explosive device. The only thing that Batalov agreed to was to film a sheet with the inscription "Z dnem HUR 07.9.2024 © RDK" (Happy GUR Day) against the backdrop of the buildings of the city administration and the regional government. These recordings appeared in a video published on the RDK Telegram channel. Based on the video, security forces determined the location of the filming and tracked down the car the operator was traveling in—it was registered to Batalov himself. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On July 2, 2025, the Pacific Fleet Military Court found Vladislav Batalov guilty and sentenced him to 18 years of imprisonment, the first 3 years to be served in prison, and the remaining part of the sentence in a strict regime correctional colony. 31 October 2025, the Military Appellate Court left the sentence unchanged.
