Case Description
On April 21, 2023, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on "fakes" about the army motivated by political hatred against activist Vladislav Barabonov from Moscow. The reason for the criminal prosecution was five posts in his Telegram channel, published in March 2022. Among them are videos about protests by Ukrainians in Melitopol and shelling of Chernihiv by Russian troops, as a result of which 47 people died. In July 2023, the preliminary investigation was suspended due to the fact that the suspect had gone into hiding. Barabnov was put on the wanted list. Vladislav Barabanov was a defendant in the so-called" The 'Moscow case', which was opened after protests for fair elections in July 2019. The activist was accused of participating in "mass riots, he spent one month under arrest. As a result, the Investigative Committee closed the criminal case against Barabanov due to the absence of corpus delicti.
