Case Description
Late in the evening of August 17, 2023, in Kirov, unknown individuals set fire to a mobile point for contract military service selection on Lepse Street. Before the attack, the arsonist pulled a T-shirt over his head, and after that - began filming what was happening on his phone. The fire was quickly extinguished, as a result, a fragment of approximately two by two meters burned out. Law enforcement estimated the damage at 23 thousand rubles. Local resident Vladimir Vladimirov was detained at the scene. The next day, on August 18, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Kirov sentenced him to four days of administrative arrest under the article on petty hooliganism: the man allegedly 'shouted loudly, used obscene language, waved his arms'. After serving her administrative arrest, Vladimirova was sent to a pre-trial detention center under the article on discrediting the army, which led to dangerous consequences. The man partially admitted his guilt, stating that he accidentally set fire to the tent, not knowing that it was a mobile recruitment point for contract service, while in a state of alcohol intoxication." "Law enforcement also charged Vladimirov with correspondence in which he "negatively expressed himself about the current political system in the Russian Federation and Russian citizens, using words such as 'putler' and 'rashist orcs,' and expressed his readiness to join the Ukrainian armed forces. The man himself claimed that he sent such messages 'only as a joke' and 'in reality, he approves of the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the special military operation'." On December 7, 2023, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Kirov sentenced Vladimir Vladimirov to two years in a general regime colony. He was also banned from administering websites on the Internet for two years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
