Case Description
In annexed Crimea at the end of October 2024, 54-year-old local resident Vladimir Rostov was detained. A report on an administrative offense was drawn up against him under the article on the demonstration of prohibited symbols. On October 30, 2024, the Lenin District Court of Sevastopol sentenced Rostov to 5 days of administrative arrest. Until November 5, 2024, a criminal case was initiated against him for spreading 'fakes' about the Russian army. According to the investigation, Rostov allegedly published symbols of banned and recognized as terrorist organizations in the Russian Federation on his social media page, including Ukrainian "neo-Nazi" formations. Also, he allegedly posted materials from "enemy" Internet resources about the actions of the RF Armed Forces in Ukraine that did not correspond to reality. The court sent the defendant in the case into custody.
