Case Description
In Starobelsk district of the occupied Luhansk region on 1 September 2024, local 63-year-old resident, citizen of Ukraine Vladimir Kuznetsov was detained. The next day, on September 2, he was transported to Lugansk and placed in a temporary detention center. He was accused of "participating in the activities of a terrorist organization." According to the Russian investigation, Kuznetsov served in the 'Aidar' battalion, which is banned in the Russian Federation, in 2014-2015. On December 12, 2024, the Southern District Military Court found Vladimir Kuznetsov guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment. The size of the punishment is unknown. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
