In May 2023, security forces came to search the activist of Shiyes Vladimir Kotov in Kotlas, Arkhangelsk Oblast, after which they took him away for questioning. They seized his mobile phone and SIM cards. Vladimir Kotov was accused of repeated discrediting of the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The reason for the persecution was anti-war publications on VKontakte. No information was provided about the measure of restraint chosen for him. In June 2022, Kotov was fined 30 thousand rubles under this article for eight comments on VKontakte, in which, as stated in the text of the court's decision, he characterized "the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as violent, aggressive, fascist." On November 3, 2023, the Kotlas City Court of the Arkhangelsk Oblast found Vladimir Kotov guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 130 thousand rubles. On January 15, 2024, the Arkhangelsk Oblast Court upheld the verdict.
