Case Description
In the Kamchatka Territory in May 2022, a criminal case was opened for repeated "discrediting" of the army against Vladimir Yefimov, the leader of the Kamchatka branch of Yabloko. The reason for the criminal prosecution was two posts with a photo of the destroyed Mariupol and a statement about participation in the Immortal Regiment action with an anti-war stance. The court appointed a prohibition of certain actions as a measure of restraint for the politician. March 31, 2023, Judge Natalia Lychkova of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City Court of the Kamchatka Territory found Vladimir Yefimov guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 200 thousand. rubles. On June 13, 2023, the Kamchatka Regional Court left the sentence unchanged. In November 2023, a criminal case was opened in Kamchatka Krai against Vladimir Yefimov, the leader of Kamchatka Yabloko, for the repeated demonstration of Nazi symbols. The reason for the criminal prosecution was an excerpt from the anti-fascist film "Cabaret", published by the politician on Facebook, with the comment: "I was tormented by the question, who does he remind me of? Because this image is already secondary. And then, after rewatching Bob Fosse's brilliant anti-fascist film 'Cabaret,' I actually screamed. That's it! "Blue-eyed blond Aryan-looking Hitler Youth in the park performs the song "The Future Belongs to Us!" SHAMAN's "We Will Rise!" and this Hitler Youth "Future..." Damn it, what are these bastards doing to the country!", Earlier, Yefimova had repeatedly been held accountable under an administrative article on displaying Nazi symbols, for example, because of a photograph of Putin. As a preventive measure, Efimov was given a ban on certain actions for the duration of the investigation. In July 2024, when the case was transferred to court, it became known that another criminal case had been initiated against Yefimov - for repeated 'discrediting of the army'. The details of the charges are unknown. Both cases were combined into one proceeding. On August 22, 2024, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City Court tightened the measure of restraint for Efimov and sent him into custody. Later he was again released under house arrest. On April 4, 2025, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City Court found Vladimir Yefimov guilty and sentenced him to two years in a penal colony. The court also prohibited Efimov from making publications on the Internet and administering websites for three years. 3 June 2025, the Kamchatka Regional Court left the sentence unchanged. 23 August 2024 Yefimov was taken into custody as part of the already third case of discrediting the Armed Forces. On October 18, 2024, he was placed under house arrest. On January 29, 2025, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City Court found Vladimir Yefimov guilty and sentenced him to 2 years in a penal colony-settlement. Also, the court prohibited the politician from administering internet sites and publics for 4 years. On March 28, 2025, the Kamchatka Regional Court reduced the sentence to 1.5 years in a penal colony-settlement.
