Case Description
On February 5, 2024, the FSB reported the prevention of an "SBU terrorist attack" against Sergei Aksyonov in Crimea. Three Russian citizens were detained on charges of preparing to blow up a car "belonging to one of the representatives of the authorities of Crimea" - 49-year-old Vladimir Bondar, his civil wife 44-year-old Oksana Shevchenko and 74-year-old pensioner Vladimir Ananyev. According to law enforcement officials, the detained individuals had a radio-controlled explosive device made from a modified German anti-tank mine with a hexogen-based charge weighing 1.9 kilograms and a homemade explosive device based on C-4 weighing 3.05 kg. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on attempted terrorism and illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation of explosives. All three were sent into custody during the investigation. On May 14, 2025, the Southern Military District Court found Oksana Shevchenko guilty and sentenced her to 10 years in a general regime penal colony and a fine of 500 thousand. rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. On June 23, 2025, the Southern District Military Court found Vladimir Bodnary guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony with the first 3 years to be served in prison and a fine of 500 thousand. rubles.
